Celler Domini de la Cartoixa

Domini de la Cartoixa can be found on the outskirts of the village of El Molar, in the midst of natural scenery and surrounded by 11 hectares of organically grown vines. As its name indicates, these lands used to belong to the Carthusian monks of Escaladei. Clos Galena is the result of the hard work of a man of science - winemaker and university professor - who built up his own winery with the aim of making unique wines.
From these vines, the grapes have been grown to produce the wines Galena and Clos Galena.

  • The DOC Priorat or wine appellation The DOQ Priorat covers a small region of fewer than 20,000 hectares, of which only 1,600 hectares are planted with vines. The landscape is abrupt and challenging, or in the words of the Catalan writer, Josep Pla, ‘cataclismatic’. Working the vineyards is a complicated, demanding and costly undertaking, and the vines produce very little compared to those of other wine regions.
