Festa de la Verema a l'antiga
Traditions and Festivals or "Fiestas"
There are plenty of very varied festivals in the Priorat. "Fiestas Mayores", processions, cultural meetings.... Many of the "Fiestas Mayores" take place over the Summer months of July and August which include traditional music and dancing and activities for Children.
Curiously, the last day of the festivities is the "Dia dels Dropos" or the "Day of the Lazy". There are usually many games for children which are based on local tradition. Many processions and popular meetings throughout the year take place at the village hermitage which are to be found on the outskirts of each village and are usually sited in areas of outstanding natural beauty. There are in fact, four important dates in the Priorat festival calendar and they are:-
- Weekend closest to Sant Anthony's day, 17th January: L’Encamisada de Falset
- Second Sunday in March: Festa de la Truita amb Suc d’Ulldemolins (Festival of the Omelette in its own sauce)
- First weekend of May: Fira del Vi de Falset (Falset Wine Fair)
- Third (or sometimes second) Saturday of September: Festa de la Verema a l’Antiga de Poboleda (Old style Wine Harvest Festival)

- L'Encamisada The Festival of the "Encamisada" is celebrated in Falset the weekend closest to Saint Anthony's Day, 17th January. It is linked to a popular legend which dates back to the 18th century when the men of the village took part in an "encamisada" against the invading French. An "encamisada" is a rapid attack at night to catch the enemy unawares and as camouflage, they were dressed only in their shirt-sleeves ("camisa" means shirt in Catalan).

The Priorat county celebrates its annual Wine Fair the first weekend of May. It is dedicated to the two wine appellations of the county, the DOC Priorat and the DO Montsant.
