Catalan Minister Huguet visits Priorat

On 31st October, 2008, the Catalan minister for Innovation, Universities and Businesses, Mr. Huguet visited the Priorat county to get to know the recent advances in developing tourism in the Priorat. The region has been awarded a three-year governmental grant for tourism for 2006 to 2009.
Thanks to the Tourism Grant (Pla de Foment Turístic) of the Priorat County Council 2006-2009, various initiatives and projects have been launched based on natural heritage and the wine and olive oil trade in the Priorat. These projects according to the minister "are aimed at quality and the development of tourism out of the typical seasons. They are also sustainable from a social-economic and environmental standpoint".
