Família Nin Ortiz
In 2004 Ester Nin started making "Nit de Nin" and in 2008 she joined forces with Carlos Ortiz to create "Planetes de Nin". They have farmed organically since 1999, for which they have been certified by the CCPAE since 2002. The owners have used biodynamic farming methods and philosophy since 2006. They work the hillsides with a mule, select the grapes by hand and use horsetail infusions on the vines. The harvest is always early to preserve crispness. Wines are fermented and aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak vats holding between 28 and 32 hectolitres, and since 2012 also in clay amphoras, to avoid the presence of wood. No industrial yeasts are added, nor is the wine acidified, and hardly any sulphite is used.
The winery is a member of “la Renaissance de les Appellations”, a group of biodynamic wineries.
